All orders are processed thru our website store- even if you are mailing payment.
You can also order on eBay: If you don't mind bidding, we sometimes have items listed for a lower starting price on eBay. Please note: we do not have our entire inventory listed on eBay. If we have it on eBay, it is in-stock and ready to ship (unlike some eBay kilt sellers...)
Always check our website store before ordering from our eBay store- some items cost more on eBay.
Correct procedure if ordering multiple items from eBay is to pay with a single payment. Do not pay for each item individually- please wait until you receive a combined invoice. This will allow us to calculate a combined shipping rate- the saving to you can be significant! We are no longer able to retroactively offer shipping discounts if each item is paid for individually. It's usually simpler to just order from our website.
Payment: We accept personal checks (held for clearance) & money orders made out to StillwaterKilts.com. Payment must be in US Dollars- and drawn from a US bank. We can not accept any foreign checks or money orders, this includes Canadian Postal money orders. You can pay online by VISA, MasterCard or PayPal thru our online store. We can also do direct wire transfers. We also accept Google Checkout for store orders, eBay prohibits Google Checkout for eBay purchases (probably because eBay owns PayPal...)
Never e-mail us your credit card number.
Your e-mail does not have the same security features that our website does.

Phone orders: If you are ordering by phone because you are not comfortable using your credit card on the internet, please note that we use web-based card processing, which means we will be entering your card info on the internet. It is actually safer to order online, where even we do not see your credit card info. Our website ordering is safe and secure. You can of course pay by check, we like that! (less bank fees for us)
Shipping: We ship promptly via USPS Priority Mail. Large orders are shipped ground. We cannot refund shipping costs, or assume liability for shipping carrier delays/errors. Need it faster? Talk to us BEFORE you place your order and we can let you know what options might be available. We cannot modify the shipping method after an order is placed. Optional shipping insurance is offered for domestic orders, please note insurance only covers loss/damage during transit, and does not cover theft after delivery.
Are you ordering from outside the USA? We have shipped kilts & accessories all over the world- even to Scotland! We currently offer service to Canada, UK/Europe, Australia/New Zealand, South America and Japan. We do not accept checks/money orders from outside the US (see above). Purchaser is responsible for all customs fees, we are required to declare correct value on all customs forms.
Group Orders: If you have a band, wedding party or other group that needs matching kilts, we can offer favorable terms. Please contact us well in advance of when you will need them.
Local Sales: In order to provide the best possible service for our website customers, we do not operate a retail store or travel to events outside of MN. Local sales are by appointment only. Please contact us for info about local sales or to schedule an appointment.

Returns/exchanges: You can return or exchange any item we currently sell for 30 days after date of purchase. Kilts must still have temporary pleat stitching intact, unless return is due to manufacturing error. Closeout/discontinued/irregular items are not always eligible for refund/exchange, please contact us if you have any questions. Buyer is responsible for postage in most cases. Returns after 30 days are at our discretion, and may be subject to a restock fee.
The fastest way to do a size exchange is to simply order another kilt as a separate transaction, (so it can ship right away) and send the first kilt back for a refund. Refunds are credited back to the original purchaser.
To do a direct exchange instead, send it back (with pleat tacking in place) and enclose a check, money order or cash to cover return shipping (e-mail or call us to get the correct amount). Make sure you enclose a note saying what size to send back, even if you already talked with someone. You might want to verify with us the availability of the replacement kilt first.
